Why watch this film?

An unusual co-production between the United States, Russia and China, 'Iron Mask' seeks to mix all the qualities (and some flaws) of the cinema of these three countries. On the one hand, the feature film with Jackie Chan, Jason Flemyng (‘The Curious Case of Benjamin Button’) and Arnold Schwarzenegger (‘The Terminator’) lightly brings the narrative of an adventure through the seas of 1700 -- with everything that imagination allows about this period of History. There are good action scenes and the adventure works, especially for children. However, at all times, director Oleg Stepchenko seems to have desires to make 'Iron Mask' have Hollywood aspirations that do not fit with the visual, the proposal and the limitations of the film, making everything a bit forced. However, in the moments when the feature assumes its flaws, it is guaranteed fun on the screen.
