Why watch this film?

"Valley of the Gods" is an experimental, slow-paced film that certainly won't please everyone who watches it. Director and screenwriter Lech Majewski ("The Mill and the Cross") intertwines narratives, dares visually, and even provokes the viewer with out-of-context scenes in a film that resembles an audiovisual puzzle, mixing the story of the world's richest man, an ancient Navajo legend, and the plot of a biographer candidate, John Ecas (Josh Hartnett), who has an unrestrained imagination, creating a fascinating, mysterious, and idiosyncratic vision of America. Strange, funny, and daring, with a cast featuring Charlotte Rampling, John Malkovich, and John Rhys-Davies.
