American Badger

A hitman befriends a prostitute for information, but is forced to kill her. What will he do?

Trailer

Why watch this film?

Stories about cold and calculating killers who become enchanted with other people can already be considered clichés in the movies -- 'The Professional' is one of the most obvious examples, with the friendship between Jean Reno and Natalie Portman marking generations. 'American Badger' follows precisely this path. Directed, written and starred by Kirk Caouette ('Promiseland'), the feature film tells the story of a professional assassin (Caouette) who is assigned to be friends with a prostitute and create ties with her. So far so good. Things change scenery, however, when the orders change and the assassin has to kill the prostitute (and now, also, his friend). The movie has clear budget limitations, as well as showing a lack of experience from Caouette as a director, but it should be a good entertainment for those who like films of the genre, with adrenaline being the true protagonist in the story -- and without many distractions.
