The Girls

The arrival of a new classmate forces Celia to confront adolescence.

Trailer

Why watch this film?

Shown at the Berlin and Málaga Film Festivals, 'Las Niñas' dives into the life of Célia, an 11-year-old girl who studies in a convent and lives with her 30-year-old widow mother. Everything is going well until the arrival of a new classmate puts the protagonist directly into adolescence. An extremely personal film by Pilar Palomero ('Niño Balcón'), who wrote and directed it, 'Las Niñas' talks about feelings in youth, always amplified to the maximum, and how a simple gesture, look or smile can influence the way we relate to people and the space around us.
