Why watch this film?

Production from Brazil and Argentina, 'Matar a la bestia' is an uncomfortable film - to say the least. After all, the plot directed and written by Agustina San Martín (from the short 'Monstruo Dios') follows a girl (Tamara Rocca), on the border between Brazil and Argentina, who has a clear goal: to find her missing brother. However, in this religious region and in permanent search of identity, this young woman ends up running into prejudices, oppression and a beast that circles the forest of that border. With excellent acting from Rocca, the feature film adopts a slow and cadenced rhythm to talk about this scenario in which the environment brings direct impacts on the lives and objectives of people - however determined they may be. Highlight for Agustina's mature direction that, despite being in her first feature film, manages to break free and say goodbye on the screen.
