Why watch this film?
Typical survival drama, 'Infinite Storm' tells a story similar to what movies like 'Against the Ice' and 'Everest' have already told: people fighting against the fury of nature, especially snow and cold. Here, specifically, director Malgorzata Szumowska ('In the Name Of...') takes inspiration from Pam Bales' life to tell the story of a mountaineer (Naomi Watts) who is caught in a snow storm and who, in the midst of chaos, finds a strange stranded person. That's where she starts the journey to take him down the mountain before nightfall. Tense and anguishing, the film works even with all the similarities already seen with other stories, leaving the audience sitting on the edge of their seat. Much of this due to Watts' good work ('The Impossible', 'Birdman'), which once again shows how she is an actress who gives herself completely to her work.
