Why watch this film?
Colombian production that opened the Critics' Week at the Cannes Film Festival 2019. 'Litigante' is the story of a woman in the middle of a personal and professional turmoil: alone, she must take care of her young son, her mother who is fighting cancer, and deal with a corruption scandal at work. However, in the midst of all this, a love that could give her strength arises. The film is valuable because it questions the character of unconditional self-sacrifice under which women are so often portrayed in cinema, doing it from a realism that feels closer than condescending.
A single mother balances taking care of her mother during her fight with cancer while dealing with a corruption scandal at work.
