Caged

A prominent psychiatrist is wrongly convicted of murdering his wife and sent to solitary confinement, questioning his sanity.

Why watch this film?

'Caged' is a psychological thriller that seeks to explore the psychological consequences of almost solitary confinement, but seasoned with a social commentary on the US justice system. The performance of the protagonist, Edi Gathegi, overflows with anguish and madness as the character descends into the hell of isolation. And while filmmaker Aaron Fjellman seems to rush the narrative by encapsulating it in less than 90 minutes, the pace of 'Caged' is truly daring from start to finish, thanks to an atmosphere that exudes high doses of claustrophobia. Undoubtedly, a very original proposal.
