Why watch this film?

Brick Mansions, directed by Camille Delamarre, is an action-packed movie that takes place in a dystopian Detroit neighborhood surrounded by a containment wall. The plot follows an undercover cop, Damien Collier (played by the late Paul Walker), and an ex-con named Lino (David Belle) as they attempt to bring down a crime lord and his plan to destroy the entire city. The movie has a likable cast, but unfortunately, the choppily edited film is largely bereft of plot. Critics have compared it unfavorably to the far more entertaining District B13, on which it is based. Despite its shortcomings, the film does offer frenetic gunplay, drug material, language, sexual menace, and violence throughout, making it a good choice for action movie fans. Overall, Brick Mansions may not be a cinematic masterpiece, but it delivers on its promise of high-octane thrills.
