Why watch this film?
Master of stop motion animation, Henry Selick ("The Nightmare Before Christmas", "Coraline") is back in collaboration with Jordan Peele ("Get Out"), with a spirit as deliriously macabre as the rest of his previous works. In "Wendell & Wild", we find a guilt-ridden yet attitude-filled teen, Kat (Lyric Ross), who is recruited by the two titular demon brothers (voices of Peele and Keegan-Michael Key) to summon them to the world of evil, though she has something dangerous to ask in return. The peculiar animation is simply phenomenal, serving a story that, although super-thematic, deals delicately and originally with themes of guilt, loss, and grief. Unmissable for fans of Selick, stop motion animation, or horror in general.

Adventure

Chicken Run: Dawn of the Nugget
After managing to escape from Tweedy's farm, Ginger found a peaceful island sanctuary for the entire gang. But back on the mainland, the entire chicken species faces a new threat.

Merry Little Batman
Charming animation, originally created for Cartoon Network and later sold to Amazon, Merry Little Batman is a different kind of story from what we're used to with the bat-hero. After all, it focuses on young Damian Wayne. The boy, alone in Wayne Manor on Christmas Eve, transforms into the "Little Batman" to defend Gotham City from villains who want to spoil the holiday festivities. Different and creative, it's a film that only reinforces how versatile and enjoyable Batman can be.

Wonka
Rarely have I been as surprised in cinemas as with Wonka. Nothing, absolutely nothing, excited me about the movie: the idea of creating an origin story for the character from Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, as if it were necessary; the promotional material, which always featured scenes bordering on the tacky; and the choice of Timothée Chalamet for the role itself. However, the fact is that director Paul King (Paddington) managed to turn this lemon into lemonade. The film not only entertains but also enchants. Although Chalamet continues to raise doubts about whether he was the right person for the role (I even think Tom Holland would be more suitable for the role), the movie's universe is wonderful: from the way it embraces fantasy in costumes and special effects, through the captivating characters (loved Rowan Atkinson's priest and Hugh Grant's Oompa-Loompa), to the film's message, which works for the whole family and brings hope in gloomy times.

The Bad Guys: A Very Bad Holiday
After causing Christmas to be canceled due to an accident, Mr. Wolf and company must "be good to be bad" and revive the holiday spirit to carry out the perfect heist they had planned for the festivities. The Bad Guys: A Very Bad Holiday is a Netflix exclusive animated special that brings together characters from the successful DreamWorks animated film. If you enjoyed it or have kids in your family, it's a fun option to watch during the holiday season.
