Why watch this film?
Someone once said that children are not innocent, but naive. This aphorism is at the center of The Innocents, a Norwegian proposal that seems like simple supernatural terror on the surface, but tells us much more. The story is about two sisters - one of them autistic - who come to live in a new apartment during a summer vacation. New friendships unleash inexplicable events that take a sinister course. For some too cynical, for others a profound study of the banality of evil at any age, which is uncomfortable and disturbing but also moving and confronts us not only with the worst of ourselves, but also with our most hopeful side.
