Forever Chape
In 2016, a team enchanted Brazil. Few years after being promoted to the first division of the Brazilian Championship, Chapecoense was going to compete in their first international tournament final against Atlético Nacional from Colombia for the South American Cup. Unfortunately, tragedy struck: the plane carrying the team to Medellín crashed, killing 71 people among directors, players, coaching staff, and journalists. This documentary, directed by Luis Ara, had its controversy behind the scenes since it was produced without the initial consent of the victims' families. Nevertheless, it has its value when telling the story of the victims and the six survivors, which should never be forgotten.

Brasil 2002: Os Bastidores do Penta
The conquest of Brazil's fifth World Cup in Japan and South Korea in 2002 marked a generation. After 20 years, this Netflix documentary returns to those events, including behind-the-scenes footage and fun interviews with the protagonists of that conquest, such as Ronaldo, Roberto Carlos, Cafu and Denilson. For those who followed the entire tournament, there is that pleasant feeling of nostalgia. For the generations that came after (and there are many people in them!), it is the opportunity to feel what the atmosphere in Brazil was like in 2002, full of optimism and the feeling that we were not only the country of football, but also of the future - and beloved by the whole world. Good times.

La Bonga
La bonga is an emotional Colombian documentary, selected for film festivals like Guanajuato (Mexico), Costa Rica, and San Francisco. The documentary portrays the return of hundreds of people to the title town, now swallowed by the jungle, after they had to abandon it decades earlier due to threats of violence from paramilitary groups. It is a powerful cinematic exercise on collective memory to heal trauma, reconcile with the passage of time, and rebuild abandoned lives to move forward with courage.

Life Is Not a Competition, But I'm Winning
Life is not a Competition, but I'm Winning is a sports documentary that challenges one of the most debated—and controversial—issues in professional sports in recent years: the rigidity of gender-based competitive divisions—male and female—with the resultant exclusion of transgender athletes. With a visual style that goes beyond typical sports documentaries, this production challenges these classifications while celebrating the triumphs of transgender women who have been denied the opportunity to compete and represent their disciplines—and even their nations—on the podium.

Skywalkers: A Love Story
Skywalkers: A Love Story is a documentary presented at the Sundance Festival 2024 that, from its theme and subjects, might already seem controversial: it follows a couple dedicated to rooftopping, the activity of clandestinely scaling skyscrapers and other tall structures, and documenting it. The documentary explores their trajectories, motivations, and romantic relationship, as they prepare for the most risky—and important—climb of their lives. Filled with spectacular and even terrifying images, with editing that keeps the viewer engaged, Skywalkers will fascinate the curious, even if, as such, its reflections on love never reach the same heights.
