Why watch this film?

If you still have doubts that Willem Dafoe is one of the great actors in activity, first be ashamed of yourself. Then, go watch Inside and make sure you are wrong. After all, this film by the Greek Vasilis Katsoupis is the typical one made for an actor to shine – in this case, Dafoe. He plays Nemo, a man who enters a billionaire's apartment to steal very important works of art. However, his world collapses when the door he entered through is accidentally closed, and he can't get out in any way. The windows are bulletproof, the door is made of steel. Over 100 minutes, we follow this man struggling to survive inside an apartment where the conditions are the worst possible, yielding iconic moments like Dafoe crying with his head inside the freezer while playing the Macarena. It's fun, unusual, and still with sour touches of melancholy. It's not a great film, as it seems not to know which path to take and is clearly an outdated idea of a pandemic. But you can marvel at Dafoe, who shines throughout the film and makes us cry and laugh in equal measures.
