Why watch this film?

What's the point of a remake or a new adaptation? The original 'Mean Girls,' starring Lindsay Lohan and Rachel McAdams, has become a classic in teen comedy, with countless iconic lines and moments. Subsequently, a Broadway musical was created based on the film, which now makes its way to the screen. This musical version of 'Mean Girls' doesn't offer anything new in terms of narrative: the story is exactly the same, with some of its dialogues and key moments replicated without changes, but with new faces and told through musical numbers. These musical numbers vary in quality, with some being spectacular and others rather average. However, there are positive points, such as Reneé Rapp, who is SPECTACULAR in the role of Regina George, while Auli'i Cravalho (voice of Moana) also does a great job. This new version of 'Mean Girls' is redundant, to say the least. But if you're a fan of musicals, the original, or both, you'll love it.
