Why watch this film?

A popular musician running for president of a country is an extravagant idea in itself, so a documentary about it couldn't be any different, with all the good and bad that comes with it. "Bobi Wine: The People’s President" documents how the namesake artist challenged the long-standing rule of Yoweri Museveni, who has been the president of Uganda since 1986, a military dictatorship disguised as a democracy. News reports and history already document the outcome of that election, but here what matters is the journey and the exposure: beneath Wine's charisma, there is a message about the importance of fighting for democracy or maintaining it where it truly exists.
