Superman IV

Superman fights for nuclear disarmament and faces Nuclear Man

Why watch this film?

After 'Superman III', the rights to the character fell into the hands of Cannon Films, famous for its low-budget productions in the 1980s. Christopher Reeve only agreed to return to the character that made him famous after a deal with the new production company involving a script with a message of peace in times of the Cold War. Gene Hackman also agreed to come back to play Lex Luthor. Even with all this, the Man of Steel was a victim of a troubled and rushed production, and an editing that removed several passages from the final cut. It lacks direction, acting, special effects, practically everything ... A melancholy end to the saga of the character. Anyway, it's still Christopher Reeve's Superman, which used to be great and still has its merits.
