Why watch this film?

In cycling - and in all sports, or any competition of human talent - those who know victory and fame are the ones who cross the finish line first. The award-winning Lithuanian documentary Wonderful Losers: A Different World is a powerful reminder that any feat - even individual - is the result of the effort and sacrifice of a collective. Director Arunas Matelis followed several anonymous cycling heroes throughout seven editions of the annual Giro d'Italia race, to discover what motivates them to relentlessly perform huge physical feats, without ever winning the prize.
