Why watch this film?

Before anything else, it's worth noting: 'Serenity' is a continuation of the 2002 prematurely cancelled series 'Firefly'. So if you haven't watched the show, this movie may not be for you. After all, filmmaker Joss Whedon (who would later direct 'The Avengers' in 2012) takes advantage of the entire universe, environment and characters created in the series. He doesn't waste time giving big explanations or delving into the journey of each character. It's a story that follows the science fiction plot, which draws inspiration from 'Star Wars' and 'Star Trek', talking about a girl with special gifts who has to flee with her brother, aboard the Serenity ship. Some passages are poorly explained, at other times the dependence on the series is so great that it puts a question mark in the head even of those who followed the story on TV. However, in the end, 'Serenity: The Fight for Tomorrow' only proves something that fans have been saying for years: the series should not have been cancelled. There was a lot, a lot of material to be explored in this dystopian and futuristic world.
