Why watch this film?

Since the 1980s, with 'Ghostbusters', cinema has found a great vein of horror films with a good pinch of comedy--sometimes, as is the case of the cited one, they become comedies with a pinch of horror. This is also the case of 'Zombieland', 'Happy Death Day' and 'What We Do in the Shadows'. Now, Netflix visits this subgenre with 'Vampires vs. the Bronx'. Here, filmmaker Osmany Rodriguez ('The Last Man on Earth') talks about the gentrification process of the Bronx, in New York--that is, the phenomenon that values a region or neighborhood and directly affects the local low-income population. However, instead of doing this through drama, he makes this mix of comedy and horror by using the mythical figure of the vampire as a starting point for reflection. Strange and provocative, it is a feature film that should bring some good discussions along with lots of fun.
