Why watch this film?
Italian filmmaker Nanni Moretti (winner of the Palme d'Or in 2001 for The Son's Room) returns with what has been called his 8½, for obvious reasons. A Brighter Tomorrow is the story of a filmmaker struggling to shoot a movie about the Hungarian Revolution, while trying to save his marriage to his producer wife. The film satirizes the current state of cinema, and perhaps indulges a bit too much in its nostalgia. It is far from the best that veteran Moretti has to offer, but if you've enjoyed his previous films, you will undoubtedly enjoy this one.

The narrative brings a dichotomy between justice and human relationships. Giving space to think about how the law is regulating, dissuading and punishing human behavior - and that it should be equal for all. A great analysis of people and done in a very genuine way. Nanni Moretti's direction was spot on: he brings great sensitivity, letting the melodrama flow well. The passage of time is another plus point, there is a lot of naturalness in this construction, which manages to hold the viewer.

The confusion begins when, by mistake, Zé stays at Edu’s luxury hotel, which, in turn, ends up at Zé’s simple inn. This exchange provides experiences that the two families were not used to, but which ends up uniting them even more.

Unfrosted follows the path of films exploring the creation of iconic products, akin to Air and The Beanie Bubble. Here, however, director and protagonist Jerry Seinfeld tells the story of Pop-Tarts, a treat born during a time when milk and cereal ruled breakfast. Entertaining, albeit following the basics of this storytelling style, the film unveils a little-known and genuinely funny tale.
