Inspired by Jane Austen's book 'Persuasion', this romantic comedy is fun, although it's not the best example of the genre. Still, it serves its purpose of entertainment. In the plot, a businesswoman has to figure out her feelings for her ex-boyfriend when she is forced to work with him. If you're looking for a movie to pass the time and have a few laughs, 'Modern Persuasion' is the right choice. If you're a fan of Jane Austen, you can also compare the narrative to the book.

Plot summary

In this modern telling of Jane Austen’s “Persuasion,” Wren Cosgrove is a happy, single, and self-confessed workaholic. After rising to the top of the corporate ladder, she finds herself coming home every night to her cat. When her firm is hired by Owen Jasper, “the man who got away,” Wren's long-lost feelings are stirred, giving Wren a second chance at true love.
