Why watch this film?

Starting in the second half of the 2010s, Brazilian comedy began to take on a new look in some of its releases -- creating almost a subgenre within national comedies. Out went sexist jokes and absurd situations and in came female characters with real dilemmas, like in 'Mulheres Alteradas' and 'TOC: Transtorno Obsessivo Compulsivo'. Now, director Cláudia Jouvin, of 'Um Homem Só', is back presenting the same light comedy with something to say with 'L.O.C.A.: Liga das Obsessivas Compulsivas por Amor'. Starring Débora Lamm, Mariana Ximenes and Roberta Rodrigues, the feature film tells the story of these three women in a complicated situation in love -- one of them is living a fleeting passion, another is facing her ex's machismo and another is dealing with infidelity. Even though Cláudia bets on some very obvious clichés to tell this story, it's hard not to have fun and have a good time following the journey of these women in the universe of love -- with some very real and necessary questions, going beyond the obvious in this female universe full of diversity.
