Why watch this film?
This is actor Laurent Lafitte's directorial debut. 'L'origine du monde' may not be a brilliant movie, but it shows that Lafitte has a future to be explored as a director. His comedic side is visible through the cameras and his work with scene construction is very good. With the cast, he once again shows that he has experience in the matter, after all, with more than 70 productions in his resume, he has a great baggage as an actor. 'L'origine du monde' is one of those French comedies that can captivate you and does not give room for boredom.

Italian filmmaker Nanni Moretti (winner of the Palme d'Or in 2001 for The Son's Room) returns with what has been called his 8½, for obvious reasons. A Brighter Tomorrow is the story of a filmmaker struggling to shoot a movie about the Hungarian Revolution, while trying to save his marriage to his producer wife. The film satirizes the current state of cinema, and perhaps indulges a bit too much in its nostalgia. It is far from the best that veteran Moretti has to offer, but if you've enjoyed his previous films, you will undoubtedly enjoy this one.
