Why watch this film?
Iwan Rheon ("Game of Thrones"), Freida Pinto ("Who Wants to Be a Millionaire") and Helena Zengel ("Tales from the World") were an unexpected trio in this Christmas comedy. In the plot, a teenager is obsessed with her uncle finding love and success, as he is a musician. It's a cute movie and it's great to see Iwan Rheon in a lovable role after the problematic Ramsay Bolton in GoT. Helena Zengel shows her lighter and funnier side, different from what she presented in "Explosive Disorder", for example. Despite the slightly extreme and exaggerated characters, they work to give a pinch of necessary comedy to this movie.

Italian filmmaker Nanni Moretti (winner of the Palme d'Or in 2001 for The Son's Room) returns with what has been called his 8½, for obvious reasons. A Brighter Tomorrow is the story of a filmmaker struggling to shoot a movie about the Hungarian Revolution, while trying to save his marriage to his producer wife. The film satirizes the current state of cinema, and perhaps indulges a bit too much in its nostalgia. It is far from the best that veteran Moretti has to offer, but if you've enjoyed his previous films, you will undoubtedly enjoy this one.
