The Boys In The Boat

A team of underdogs in 1936 faces elite rivals in championship rowing.

Trailer

Why watch this film?

Based on the non-fiction book The Boys in the Boat, this film tells the story of a group of young men who, affected by the economic crisis of the 1930s in the United States, become a formidable rowing team that even takes the fight to the Nazis at the 1936 Olympics. Although the rigidity in George Clooney's direction (The Tender Bar) doesn't do it many favors, the film is steered to success by the sheer impact of its story and the work of its actors, especially Callum Turner (Fantastic Beasts) and Hadley Robinson (Moxie).
