Plot summary
An infamous war criminal and former general (Ben Kingsley) spending his life on the run from international authorities is suddenly moved to a new hideout, where he develops a relationship with the maid that looks after him. But when he discovers that she is actually an agent hired to protect him, he makes a decision that will drastically change both of their lives.

Will Ferrell is one of the biggest names when it comes to silly comedies. In his filmography, there are titles like 'Eurovision', 'Semi-Pro', 'Blades of Glory' and the like. 'Land of the Lost', which is an adaptation of a classic 1970s series, mixes Ferrell's exaggerated humor with a more childlike and family-friendly tone. City of Angels
Nicolas Cage is an angel. Not necessarily in real life, of course. But in 'City of Angels', a romantic feature film and one of the biggest successes of the actor's career. In the plot, he plays the role of a divine creature who falls in love with a weakened doctor (Meg Ryan). Obviously, the relationship begins to go through bumps and bring trials to both characters. Cage and Ryan don't have the same chemistry as Cage and Laura Dern (from 'Wild Heart') or Ryan and Tom Hanks ('You've Got Mail'). Something is missing there. However, the commitment of the two actors in their roles and the delicate direction of Brad Silberling ('Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events') help to give layers to the film and make it memorable -- mainly due to the controversial ending.

Darkness and uncertainty are the big monsters here, something few horror films manage to convey effectively.
