Loving Pablo

A drug kingpin falls in love with a glamorous TV host, but their relationship is doomed by his criminal empire.

Why watch this film?

For some, a hero. For others, one of the greatest traffickers and outlaws in history. That is Pablo Escobar, brought to life with an extremely charismatic performance by Javier Bardem (Oscar winner for 'No Country for Old Men') in ‘Escobar: Paradise Lost'. Going beyond what was portrayed in the series ‘Narcos’, director Fernando León de Aranoa (from ‘A Perfect Day’) deals with the life of the criminal from his relationship with a famous journalist, called Virginia Vallejo and played by Penélope Cruz (who won an Academy Award for 'Vicky Cristina Barcelona'). The politics, murders, and negotiations of one of the most remarkable criminals of the last century are revealed by one of his greatest passions in a screenplay based on the book written by Virginia, called ‘Loving Pablo, Hating Escobar’.
