Why watch this film?
Directed by Cédric Jimenez ('The Connection'), 'BAC Nord' is a conventional crime thriller. Its ideas have been seen in numerous films of the genre, French or otherwise, with a somewhat simplistic view of social marginalization in countries like the European Union. However, there are good performances from Gilles Lellouche ('Men at Sea'), Adèle Exarchopoulos ('Life of Adele') and François Civil ('Someone, Somewhere') and the action scenes are well executed. The movie works as a superficial entertainment.

The Connection
In the 1970s and 1980s, drug trafficking from various parts of the world was trying to extend its tentacles into the United States. This is the French version of 'Narcos', but with a great performance by Jean Dujardin as Pierre Michel, a real-life judge who fought against the French Connection.

Novembre
One of the most important and remembered - for the wrong reasons - events in recent French history are the 2015 terrorist attacks in Paris, affecting the Stade de France, a concert at the Bataclan theater, and several restaurants in the capital. Directed by one of France's most recognized filmmakers in the action genre, Cédric Jimenez (The Stronghold) and starring Jean Dujardin (The Artist), November: Paris Under Attack is a dramatic thriller that, in the tradition of similar American movies (like Patriots Day), recreates the events and the intense mobilization of law enforcement to find those responsible. Without a doubt, you'll enjoy it if you like this kind of recreation of real tragedies.
