Why watch this film?

Think of 'Taxi Driver': an alienated man with disturbing ideas about the decadence of society, who decides to isolate himself and train to face it (also add the narration that illustrates the protagonist's thoughts, plus a performance by Harvey Keitel). Translate that to a futuristic world on the brink of apocalypse, and the result is 'The Last Man' (‘The Last Man’), the story of a war veteran with post-traumatic stress disorder (Hayden Christensen from 'Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith') who firmly believes the end of the world is near, so he decides to build an underground shelter and prepare to withstand extreme conditions. It's an interesting idea executed with a modest budget, and even if the result feels a bit generic, there are good performances by Christensen and Keitel, so those who enjoy a generous dose of seriousness and violence in their entertainment will be able to enjoy it.
