Biographical sports drama directed by Ben Affleck (Argo, with performances from Matt Damon, Viola Davis, Chris Tucker, Jason Bateman and Affleck himself. Air: The Story Behind the Brand is, as its title suggests, the story of how a struggling Nike was able to attract Michael Jordan to the historic deal that gave rise to today's million-dollar Air Jordan sneaker line. In the director's chair, Affleck shows undeniable skill in extracting an interesting and even humorous story from an anecdote that doesn't deal with much more than executives trying to close a coveted contract. Michael Jordan himself - absent for practically the entire movie - is portrayed as a mythical figure, drawing greater attention to the ordinary men and women of the story.

Live By Night
The era of Prohibition in the United States (1920-1933) has been the subject of various cinematic masterpieces, from the original 1932 'Scarface' to Sergio Leone's 'Once Upon a Time in America' or Brian De Palma's 'Untouchables'. Although based on Dennis Lehane's acclaimed homonymous novel (author of other great novels adapted for the screen such as 'Mystic River' or 'Shutter Island'), 'Live By Night' does not manage to belong to such a select club. As he did with 'Argo', Ben Affleck stars in, writes and directs this film version, although with less exciting results in terms of narrative, even if it is visually very well achieved. The solid performances of the star-studded cast, which includes Elle Fanning, Brendan Gleeson, Chris Cooper, Zoe Saldana and Sienna Miller; may be enough to keep your attention on this period crime drama, but there are undoubtedly better alternatives within the genre.

My Fault
An adaptation of the first installment of the successful literary trilogy Culpables, which author Mercedes Ron initially released on the popular Wattpad platform. My Fault follows the tumultuous forbidden relationship between Noah and his stepbrother, Nick. Like many other similar productions aimed at young audiences, this movie features unbelievable situations, tonal shifts, and dialogue as stiff as it is saccharine. Certainly beloved by fans of the original book, but perhaps best avoided by those looking for a more serious drama.
Flamin' Hot
This movie, debuting as director from actress Eva Longoria (Desperate Housewives), tells one of the most well-known stories of Latinos reaching the "American Dream": Richard Montañez, inventor of the world-famous Flamin' Hot Cheetos. As a biopic, Flamin' Hot is like the titular snack: it may have a lot of calories and little nutritional value, but it's certainly interesting and fun as a story. On the other hand, fans of success stories in business and marketing brought to the screen (like Air: The Story Behind the Logo) will definitely find something they'll like here.
